Watch the Chac Mool video on JudyTube
Wow the holidays just flew by, but very happily. My # 1 New Year’s resolution is to write a musical! And after a couple of weeks mulling it over, it just started pouring out. Reminds me of what a Columbia College teacher told us about writing: “Just open a vein and let it bleed.” Not only that, this is going to be a very fun musical with a big, joyous ending. Not that there won’t be sad parts—“But where there is light, show the light.”
In the meantime we received the video of my little play, an adaptation of Carlos Fuentes’ Chac Mool. A big shout out of gratitude to Timmy Caldwell for donating his free time to shoot and edit Chac Mool. He also videotaped and edited a touching performance by the little kids from Centro Romero.
My adult student actors in Chac Mool were so excited upon seeing the video that they went to our director and requested a whole-school viewing. So we are planning this for next week. It means so much to me that our ESL students overcame their fears and put on an extraordinary show.
You can watch the video here.

I will be very busy teaching and writing my musical so a few months may go by without performances. But rest assured I am happily scribbling away!
Here’s to a great 2012 for all of us! May we all put our talents to the best possible use.
Un Abrazo!
Judy
